It is with great pleasure we report that for the cultural program of the Seventh International Conference on Information Systems Security (ICISS 2011), Manick Sorcar performed his “Laser Fantasy”, an extravaganza of dance-drama-magic in combination with life-size laser graphics and 3D animation. The program took place on December 18, 2011, 6 pm at the “Gandhi Bhavan”, the recently-built large performing arena with ultra-modern technical facility located within the university campus.
The conference ran for five days December 15-19, 2011, at the Dr. T. Sen Auditorium, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.
The conference series, held annually, provides a forum for disseminating latest research results in information and systems security. ICISS 2011, the seventh conference in this series, will be held under the aegis of the newly formed Society for Research in Information Security and Privacy (SRISP). The keynote speakers are Prof. Anupam Dutta of Carnegie Mellon University, USA, Prof. David Evans of University of Virginia, USA, Vipul Gopal of Microsoft Research, Bangalore, India, and Prof. William Enck at North Carolina State University, USA.
Sorcar’s show is primarily based on laser, which is the cutting-edge technology of the century and the state-of-the art in lighting. He was thrilled to take this show at the technical conference attended by an international audience.
