June 12, 2018, Denver, Colorado:

As the world prepares to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi starting from October 2, 2019, I offer my humble tribute to the great man through this animation.

Thoughts behind the artistic creation:

Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) passed away seven decades ago, but he remains alive through his deeds and triumphs that changed the world forever. In his lifetime he had seen the first application of electrical lights, experienced riding a moving room called elevator, rode horse-power driven coaches fueled with gasoline, and even recorded his voice in a high-tech machine called grammophone. As a laser-artist, it was my desire to create his image with the cutting edge technology of laser, a medium that was invented years after Mahatma Gandhi passed away. To honor his belief in leading a simple life and religious faith in truth, I created the entire animation with mono-color and line drawings - all with laser, except for the flame in the oil lamp, which was real fire - a symbol of purity and truth.
