On April 3, 2006, Manick Sorcar
was featured in the Unplugged section of The Statesman,
a leading newspaper of Kolkata, India. Written by Mathures Paul,
the half-page interview-article with several color pictures of
Sorcar and his creations, focused on his cartoonist side and his
takes on many social issues including rural-urban, East-West gap
